STEP 1: Bandage comes off after 4-5 hours. Immediately take a SHORT shower after removing the bandage to wash it very well.
STEP 2: For the approximate 2 weeks that it will take for your tattoo to heal, keep showers SHORT (5 minutes). Use a mild unscented soap like Ivory or Dove. Use only your hand with soap to wash the tattoo but make sure everything is washed off of it so it’s not shiny or slippery.
DON’T wash it with SOAP every day unless you got it dirty!
Minimize direct water contact onto the tattoo when showering, but make sure to rinse it off properly when cleaning it on the first day after the bandage is removed. (WASH LONG HAIR OUT OF THE SHOWER until tattoo is healed). Prolonged exposure to moisture will cause your tattoo to scab significantly!
STEP 3: LET THE TATTOO DRY OUT FOR THE FIRST 2-3 Days. Don’t moisturize it at this point. Let it dry out to start the healing process.
If it’s still weeping plasma, dab it off with a clean moist wash cloth.
Step 4: Starting on day 3, apply a SMALL amount Webber Vitamin E cream onto your tattoo. It comes out thick, so feel free to add a drop of water to it to dilute the cream so that it’s easier to apply.
This product is found in the first aid section of most pharmacies such as Shoppers Drug Mart, The Superstore. It comes in a red and white
container, and comes out as a white cream. If this product is not available, please substitute with a fragrance-free moisturizing cream only.
I recommend Wellskin Glaxal Base, but Aveeno or Glysomed will work. DON’T use tattoo-goo or any other gimmick tattoo cream!
With CLEAN hands, rub the Webber Vitamin-E cream onto your tattoo, 1 to 2 times a day (once in the morning and once at night). Rub any excess lotion to the surrounding area. Using too much lotion is counterproductive and will not allow the tattoo to heal properly. Take a Less-Is-More approach with lotion. Itching and minor scabbing is a normal part of the healing process and will go away as the tattoo heals. Tattoo will usually take 2 weeks to heal completely, but for some people it may take more or less time.
Do Not expose your tattoo to bacteria cesspools; lakes, pools, saunas, tanning beds, hot tubs, gym equipment or do physical sports that cause you to sweat excessively until the tattoo is healed. Everyone heals differently, but strictly following this aftercare should reduce healing time!

To keep your tattoo looking good forever I recommend the following care tips! After the tattoo is healed, continue to cream it daily after showering with Wellskin Glaxal Base moisturizing cream. Also, use a sunscreen rated for baby use (SPF 50) on your tattoo when going out in the sun. The less layers of skin you lose over the life of the tattoo, the better it will look for longer!
